A Special Robotic Walker for Cerebellar Ataxia Affected Women

Cerebellar Ataxia is a neural disorder in which the patients frame of reference is extremely disturbed that she cant walk without support. She also has lost balance and she can't stand. Doctors have suggested her to keep her muscles attending. Since she used a regular walker, her muscles involved in support with the walker has strained so badly.  So I have designed a robotized walker with the special design that doesnt strain her muscles and requires less effort in moving and doing her regular at home activities.

Image-4 shows a pilot design with robotics. Taking inputs of her response with the pilot design i designed next model.   Image-5 shows the use of the second model in her lift. This walker is so designed that , it supports her in washroom , lift, helps her to get to  and off from her bed, etc. Now she walks and does her daily activity without any support of other person.

I fabricated this walker myself with the support of a SS welder and a helper. There are many angles and about 60 Joints that gave aesthetic look to the Walker. This job requires lot of skills as the design is very complex and no joint is in phase with one another.  I cut, grinded, Sheared, welded, buffed, polished and did lot of skilled work with the SS metal.
